Anterior Head Syndrome Treatment Requires Teamwork

Treating Anterior Head Syndrome, shoulder pain and other chronic pain requires your cooperation.anterior-head-syndrome-treatment-burbank-xraygraphicredflareuponblue2

So you have a structural problem that is causing a host of secondary conditions. You might be feeling shoulder pain, neck aches, back muscle spasms or more. Maybe you’re even getting chronic headaches, and find you’re getting more sensitive to bright light.

These are all common symptoms of Anterior Head Syndrome (AHS), also known as Forward Head Posture, and as you treat your AHS, you’ll find that these symptoms begin to fade away. If you proceed with a proper treatment plan, you’ll get to a point where the secondary symptoms of AHS rarely occur at all. But a proper treatment plan requires your help.

Treatment for Chronic Pain Requires Your Cooperation

Just about any medical treatment requires teamwork. If you have high blood pressure for example, and your doctor begins prescribing diet, exercise or medication, you would do everything in your power to follow your doctor’s advice, wouldn’t you?

It works the same way with chiropractic treatments and structural correction. When you visit Magnolia Natural Health for an adjustment, you’ll begin to feel some relief from your symptoms. But if you continue to engage in hurtful behaviors you will be undoing all of the structural correction geared to get your spine or neck back in place.

Following the Doctor’s Orders

Many of the things you’ll learn when you begin treatment for AHS is the number of bad behaviors that cause the primary condition. AHS might be caused by:

  • Reading in bed
  • Bad posture while watching TV
  • Too much time at a computer
  • Bad posture while driving

AHS usually occurs after years of repetitive stresses on your body. You probably won’t develop forward head posture from one night of sleeping in the wrong position. Habitually sleeping in an incorrect position though, could have some problems.

Dr. Sadanaga will attempt to identify some of these bad habits, and advise counter-measures (stretching exercises, different positions for sitting and sleeping, etc.) for you to try at home.

It will be in your own best interests to incorporate new and good habits into your routine, as they will relieve you of neck and shoulder pain, backaches, headaches and other chronic pain faster than if you were just receiving structural correction treatments alone. You’ll want to arrive for your adjustments as the doctor prescribes, and then follow through by incorporating good habits outside of the chiropractic office. Remember. . .it’s your back that’s on the line!

Do you know the proper way to sit while working at your computer? There are many adjustments you might make to your posture to avoid Anterior Head Syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other conditions. Ask Dr. Sadanaga for some pointers—you’ll find you feel better relatively quickly.
