Back Pain Doctors Have Differing Philosophies

When choosing a back pain doctor to treat your pain, ask yourself if you really want to correct the source problem or if you just want symptom relief?

Two Basic Types of Chiropractic Care

Never mind the specific techniques. Most chiropractors around the world employ more than one to treat their patients, and so does Dr. Alfred Sadanaga here at Magnolia Natural Health.burbank-chiropractor-treatment-spinemodelonblack

What we’re talking about is philosophy, specifically the differences between the levels of care you get when you see your chiropractor.

And the best way to outline those philosophies is to ask yourself some key questions: Do you just want immediate relief for your neck or back pain? Or do you want to discover the mechanisms that are causing this pain, remembering that pain is really a secondary condition, so that your chiropractor can treat the primary cause of your discomfort?

Most patients want both immediate relief and prevention of future pain, which is perfectly understandable. You can find a workable solution with our structural chiropractic philosophy. There are always a few patients that choose a band-aid solution by opting for traditional chiropractic care.

Traditional Chiropractic vs. Structural Chiropractic Solutions

Patients who pop in to a traditional back pain doctor’s office just to “get cracked” whenever they experience a flare-up tend to waste more time in the long run, because they need to come back more and more often. For some reason, they just don’t want to commit to treating the root cause of bad structural health.

Structural chiropractic correction is the much better solution because it identifies and treats the source problem. Treatment may require frequent visits to Dr. Sadanaga initially, but as the vertebrae in your spine and neck ease back into place, you’ll need less chiropractic visits over time. Eventually, you’ll just need an occasional maintenance visit to make sure everything stays in place.

Forward Head Posture a/k/a Anterior Head Syndrome

The most common structural damage we see at Magnolia Natural Health is a condition called Anterior Head Syndrome. Usually it occurs when a patient loses the natural curve in the neck vertebrae, which causes a whole host of secondary conditions like frequent headaches and migraines, neck and shoulder pain, numbness or tingling in the hands or arms, and back pain.

Patients who opt for a structural chiropractic treatment plan, generally feel relief from those secondary conditions almost immediately, and the frequency of symptoms lessens as well. As the course of treatment progresses, you’ll begin to feel better and better.

Each case is different though, so you’ll want to schedule a complimentary consultation and then a full examination to see if Dr. Sadanaga can help you.

But no matter which chiropractor or back pain doctor you choose, we hope you will choose one who will identify and address the source of your pain.

You can learn more about a probable source of your back, neck or shoulder pain; frequent headaches and sciatica; by reading about Structural Shifts.

Structural correction is as the name implies, a correctional treatment to address your primary condition. The course is not designed to provide pain relief now (though that generally is one benefit), but to provide long-term health and prevent future pain.
